There are many top selling books available everywhere throughout the world; however probably the most well-known and widely read and bestselling books of all times  are: 



The Holy Bible 


Yes, The Holy Bible, the most holy scriptures of Judaism and Christianity. The Christian Bible is partitioned into two sections - the Old Testament (39 books) and the New Testaments (27 books). The book has a record of the history of ancient Israel - its origin and covenant with God. It comprises of prophetic and moral teachings in forms of Psalms and Jobs that are idyllic and philosophical works. The Old Testament incorporates the Hebrew Bible and the New Testaments consists of the Gospels ("good news"), the Acts of the Apostles, the Epistles (letters), and the Book of Revelation. 



The Lord of the Rings 


The Lord of the Rings (published in three volumes, total of six books) is an epic novel composed by philologist and Oxford educator J. R. R. Tolkien. The book is a work of high fantasy that narrates a story about one hobbit land (middle earth). The Dark Lord Sauron, the rival, who wishes to conquer and govern all of middle Earth with an ultimate weapon - The Ring, should get destroyed by a Hobbit Frodo Baggins, the Protagonist, so as to spare the world. The book got to be popular to the point that it has been adapted into movies and has tremendous fan following all over the world.

And Then There Were None, a detective fiction novel by Agatha Christie, is one of the most prevalent and abstruse books ever. Mysterious murder of ten people on an island in a relentlessly and grotesque way arouse and holds the curiosity and interest of its readers. The novel has likewise been adapted into a few plays, movies and video games. 



The Da Vinci Code 


The Da Vinci Code is a secret, thriller, detective fiction novel by Dan Brown. Initially published in 2003, the novel has sold about 80 million copies and has been translated into 44 languages. It is one of the most criticized books of its times, it follows an investigation of a murder in Paris' Louver Museum by two symbolists and uncover a fight between the Priory of Sion and Opus Dei over the possibility of Jesus Christ of Nazareth having been married to Mary Magdalene. 



The Harry Potter Series 


The phenomenal Harry Potter series incorporates seven fantasy books composed by J. K. Rowling, the British creator. The books account the adventures of the young wizard Harry Potter at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry with his closest companions Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger. The main story arc contains Harry's dilemma including the malice wizard Lord Voldemort, who executed Harry's parents in his journey to conquer the wizarding world and subjugate non-mysterious people (Muggles). The books have been adapted into series of great movies featuring Daniel Radcliffe as the hero. It has been a hit among all, adolescent and old alike.
